Do you go to Paris with a Tour Guide or a Local?

Several years ago my wife went to Paris with some friends to visit the daughter of a friend who had been living there for a few years. That girl showed more cool places than any tour guide could.

I have been wandering through the Eastern Sierras since I was 13. Now I have a place in Mammoth so I am exploring a lot.

I am also the kind of person that isn't happy unless I am on a dirt road or trail that I have not been on before. Hell even my wife is pointing out dirt roads now.

Most people come to Paris or Mammoth for a few days maybe a week. They take the gondola to the top of the mountain and rent a canoe on Twin Lakes every year. But what if you had the info to go find ancient petroglyphs or find the Surfboard sign next to the Owens (now dry) Lake that makes fun of the Los Angeles DWP. Would you go?

That is the value that you will find from the posts on this site. Speaking of Paris My wife and I know the best places to find quite romantic site to enjoy wine and cheese with some of the most spectacular views you can imagine.
