So Close to Home

At last, I had the chance to check out the Eastern Sierra Fall Coors in person.

Went all over Bishop Creek Canyon and June Lake and found great patches of fall colors that I will share in a future posts.  With all that driving I found great color right across the street from Snow Flower 13!

Snowcreek Meadow, Mammoth Lakes, Ca - October 17 2011

Personal Observations:

While many areas have reached their peak there are still plenty of patches of colors still to be found!

  • Bishop Creek has many areas past there prime but other areas that are simply  stunning.
  • June Lake has areas that are at there peak and others past their peak.
  • Parker Bench looks colorful from a distance.
  • Mammoth also has patches of wonderful color.

Observations from Others:
  • Lundy Lake is right at peak.
  • Dunderburg Meadows still has color but has patches that are past there peak.
To all those going up to the Eastern Sierras there are still great colors to find but do not dally as they will not last.
